East Ayrshire Community Planning

Community Planning is about a range of partners in the public and voluntary sectors working together to better plan, resource and deliver quality services that meet the needs of people who live and work in East Ayrshire.

The Community Plan is recognised by all Partners as the sovereign strategic planning document for the delivery of public services in East Ayrshire over the 12 years from 2003 to 2015 and sets out the overall vision for the local area, as follows.

East Ayrshire’s first Community Plan was launched on 1 April 2003 and covers the twelve-year period from 2003 to 2015. As Community Planning Partners, we recognised from the beginning that priorities change over time and gave a commitment to reviewing the Plan and the related thematic Action Plans on a four-yearly basis. The first review took place in 2006/07 and an updated Community Plan and revised set of Action Plans were implemented from 1 April 2007. The second review will be implemented over 2010/11 to ensure that updated documents are in place for 1 April 2011.
